Gala Dedicated in Memory of HaRav Dovid Sharfman zt"l
On April 6th, the 11th of Nissan, our Yeshiva, the South Florida community and the greater Jewish community suffered an immeasurable loss. Our beloved Mashgiach Ruchani, HaRav Dovid Sharfman zt"l was niftar after silently battling illness for more than 10 years.

A musmach of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim, Rabbi Sharfman zt"l joined Yeshiva Toras Chaim Toras Emes more than 20 years ago as a high school rebbe before becoming the first-level maggid shiur and subsequently assuming the position of Mashgiach Ruchani for our Bais Medrash Zichron Ezra. Under his leadership, the bais medrash began to blossom and grow, attracting talmidim from far and wide.

Although his position as Mashgiach Ruchani was more than a full-time job, Rabbi Sharfman zt"l felt obligated to be involved in the community as well and began giving a weekly Navi class in the growing Jewish community in Aventura. Four years later, Rabbi Sharfman zt"l was asked to begin a Sunday morning class for the community in North Miami Beach. His Rise and Learn shiur was a popular, well-organized, informative and exciting shiur on a halacha derived from that week's parsha. Rabbi Sharfman also gave a weekly Shabbos afternoon Gemara Shiur in the Young Israel of North Miami Beach as well as many shiurim in the local Kollelim throughout the years.

Rabbi Sharfman's zt"l awe-inspiring talents as a Rebbe were surpassed only by the love and devotion he lavished upon each and every bochur - a combination which earned him the profound respect and admiration of his talmidim, parents and colleagues alike. He spent countless hours with every talmid always going the extra mile to ensure that their every need was fulfilled. Rabbi Sharfman zt"l was a rare combination of talmid chochom, friend, advisor, and role model to so many people.

Rabbi Sharfman's zt"l presence is greatly missed in our Yeshiva, the South Florida community and indeed the entire Jewish community. It is therefore most fitting to dedicate this year's Gala in loving memory of HaRav Dovid Sharfman zt"l.
